“This was our first levada walk. The weather was against us, so hampered our experience eg no views at any viewpoints. The guide was very good and looked after the group. The waterfall and fountains are lovely, so many people there made it slightly underwhelming, together with the rain. The walk itself is interesting and I would describe as a moderate walk with some steep stairs to climb up and down. This was a good day out, we were picked up and dropped off as agreed and had no hassle or pressure, quite a relaxing day.”

“Great day out, and although it rained it didn't disappoint. Our driver Luis was easy to talk to, and your at ease straight away. As all the drivers working for True Spirt seem to be. We drove to a coffee shop where Luis explained exactly what was planned. Then we had another short drive before parking and started walking. Some of the steps took it's toll on my knees, definitely got the heat into them. For some reason the steps we came down were harder going up....... We ordered food before the walk, and Luis stopped at a lovely restaurant. If anyone orders the steak on a hot stone you'll…”

“Magno, our guide, was magnificent! We were thoroughly entertained throughout the tour and he offered lots of interesting facts about the island, flora and fauna. The walk itself was beautiful and we found it relatively easy; however, there are some steep inclines/declines as you'd expect. The route was quite busy but there was still lots of quiet spots and plenty of photo opportunities. I would highly recommend this trip with this company, it was excellent from start to finish 👏”

“Nice walk and the pace was fine - relaxed for people used to hiking. Seeing the levada network was really interesting and the path was well maintained and sign posted. Mainly easy flat but some steps and the guide took us off piste up a steep bank. The guide didn’t provide much information and was not very talkative. I’d have been as happy saving the money and doing the walk ourselves unguided.”
